About Peace Forever Project 80
Peace Forever Project 80 was launched by The Chugoku Shimbun and The Nagasaki Shimbun to commemorate the 80 years since the atomic bombings and to preserve and communicate the message of peace cultivated by the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki through illustration. The project seeks to pass on this legacy to future generations in a visually engaging and enduring form.
The illustrations for the project are created by IC4DESIGN, the internationally acclaimed creative studio based in Hiroshima and led by renowned illustrator Hirofumi Kamigaki, a native of Hiroshima prefecture.
For more than 12 years, Anabuki Design College has featured illustrations by IC4DESIGN as a key element of its visual identity. In 2016, the cover design of the college’s school guide, featuring artwork by IC4DESIGN, was selected for inclusion in the prestigious 3x3 International Illustration Awards in the United States.
Beyond its collaboration with the college, IC4DESIGN has produced numerous acclaimed works for clients in Japan and around the world. Most recently, in 2026, the studio was responsible for “The Quest for Light,” a project commissioned by Swarovski, the globally renowned crystal and glass brand.
To further promote the message of Peace Forever Project 80, commemorative merchandise was launched in June 2026, including a jigsaw puzzle and a clear file featuring the project's illustrations. The items are currently available through selected retail outlets in Hiroshima City.
